It stars Ana de Armas as an assassin from the same Ruska Roma crime family that John Wick hailed from. The other is a film titled Ballerina, set between Chapter 3 and Chapter 4. One is a three-part miniseries (airing on Peacock in September) titled The Continental, which is a prequel set in 1970s New York City which follows Ian McShane’s character Winston and the Continental Hotel. There are already two John Wick spin-off projects in the works. John Wick has grown into an outstanding series with a dedicated audience that is hungry for more exploration into the world of the franchise. That success has only grown with every new film John Wick: Chapter 4 was released earlier this year and, in addition to being the highest-grossing entry, it has been lauded as the best film in the series. Thankfully, John Wick: Chapter 2 expanded upon everything the first film did and proved that the series was something truly special. While the first John Wick didn’t perform very well at the box office, Lionsgate moved forward with a sequel anyway, as the positive word of mouth around the film and the potential of its future was too strong to ignore. The first film was released in 2014 and shocked audiences with the groundbreaking stunts, inventive action sequences, and utter brutality of it all.
